Privacy policy

What happens when you run an audit

You give us a URL and our server fetches a small sample of public pages from that site, the same pages any search engine crawler can read. The audit runs in memory on our server and the result is kept for about thirty minutes so your browser can display it, then it is deleted. We do not keep a database of audited sites, reports or scores.

What we log

Like almost every web server, ours writes standard access logs: IP address, time, page requested and browser user agent. We use them for security and to enforce rate limits (audits per visitor per hour), and they are rotated automatically. We do not sell or share them.

Cookies and advertising

The checker itself works without cookies: no account, no session, no tracking pixel from us.

This site may display advertising in the future, including Google AdSense. When it does, third party vendors, including Google, will use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com. If we add an analytics tool, we will pick a privacy-respecting one and update this page.

Data you send us

If you email us, we keep the conversation for as long as it is useful to answer you. We do not add you to any list.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask what data we hold about you and request its deletion. Given how little we store, the honest answer will usually be "your emails and possibly a line in a server log". Write to hello@greenlightmysite.com and we will sort it out.

Changes

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, the date at the top moves and the change is described here.
