About GreenlightMySite: Who Runs It and Why

GreenlightMySite publishes free tools and sourced guides for people who run websites and want to get approved for advertising, found in search and trusted by readers. It exists because of a rejection.

Why this site exists

One of the sites we run came back from an AdSense review with the “low value content” message and no further detail. We went back to Google’s own documentation and program policies and turned what a review looks at into a checklist. The checklist became a script, the script became the checker on the home page, and the questions each result raised became the guides.

Everything on the site follows from that origin. The tools give you the full result with no account and no email wall, because that is what we wanted when we were stuck. The guides say where each claim comes from, because “approved sites usually have X” is only useful if you know whether it is Google’s rule or somebody’s habit. When Google publishes nothing on a point, such as a minimum domain age or number of pages, we say so instead of inventing a threshold.

Who is behind it

GreenlightMySite is an independent publication run by Stéphane Cardon, a network and cybersecurity engineer. Day to day that means architecture, LAN and WLAN, system administration, scripting and keeping systems secure. That background shapes the technical guides: the sections on HTTPS, headers, redirects and server configuration come from running real servers and reading real logs, not from rewriting other people’s checklists.

We write “we” because the guides are produced by an editorial process described on the editorial policy page, including the fact that drafting is done with AI assistance and that each claim is checked against a primary source or measured with our own tools. That page also explains how corrections work.

What you will find here

  • Two audit tools: an AdSense eligibility checker for a whole site and a free SEO checker for a single page.
  • Four utilities for the points that block applications most often: a privacy policy generator, an ads.txt checker, a robots.txt tester and a snippet preview.
  • Guides on AdSense approval, technical SEO, on-page work, privacy, and what our own server logs show.
  • A methodology page that explains how every score is computed, and a changelog of what we changed and when.

How the site is funded

Today it is not. There is no advertising, no affiliate link and no sponsored content on GreenlightMySite. If that changes, and we would like to apply for AdSense ourselves with the same checker we publish, the privacy policy and this page will say so before the first ad appears. Tools stay free either way.

Independence

Nobody pays to be mentioned. We do not name competing tools to rank above them, and a product we mention is one we describe because it is useful to the topic. Photographs come from a free licence library and every photographer is credited on the credits page; we do not use AI-generated illustrations.
